About LNG Shipping
Asyad’s evolution as one of the world’s fastest growing national shipping lines began with a modest fleet of LNG ships. Through the acquisition of ownership stakes in existing carriers, Asyad operated a total of six LNG ships to support the transportation of LNG produced at Qalhat, on the Sultanate’s east coast, to markets around the world. It was a pivotal achievement for Asyad, and indeed for Oman in general, having added LNG transportation to the LNG value chain.
The latest addition to the fleet was Adam LNG, an acquisition that reinforced Asyad’s commitment to the safe, secure and reliable transportation of LNG. Unquestionably one of the world’s most advanced, fuel-efficient LNG carriers, the 162,000 m3 capacity Adam LNG operates on Dual Fuel Diesel Electric (DFDE) technology, which makes it exceptionally fuel efficient, cost effective and environmentally friendly. Its inclusion in the fleet is a powerful demonstration of Asyad’s driving commitment to innovation.
