Khazaen Dry Port Integrates into CMA CGM Global Network as a Final Container Destination, Strengthening Oman’s Role in Global Trade

  • Stronger multimodal logistics connectivity between Oman’s seaports and dry ports.
  • Greater market access for local traders, importers, and exporters through CMA CGM’s global shipping network.
  • Seamless, end-to-end supply chain solutions enabling efficiency and enhancing Oman’s role as a regional trade gateway.

Khazaen Dry Port (KDP), Oman's premier dry port and part of Asyad Group, has joined the CMA CGM global shipping network. This strategic integration connects KDP with a certified network of international ports, allowing it to become a recognized endpoint within the CMA CGM network. This enhances its operational integration with global trade channels, offering Omani importers and exporters streamlined access to an expansive international shipping ecosystem.

The port recently received its first container shipment under this partnership, routed through Sohar Port as a transshipment hub. Thanks to KDP’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and advanced operating systems, customs clearance and handling were completed swiftly and efficiently on site.

Designed to elevate logistics performance across Oman, KDP offers a full suite of integrated services that cater to both domestic and cross-border trade. The port offers extended free storage periods of up to 14 days for loaded containers and 21 days for empty ones, as well as advanced services for refrigerated containers, such as electrical connections and pre-operation inspections. Furthermore, food and agricultural inspections are conducted directly at the port, which accelerates the entry of goods into local markets and enhances the efficiency of supply chains.

This achievement is the result of a strategic partnership between Asyad Group, represented by Asyad Ports and Free Zones Company, and the global CMA CGM, in close coordination with the Royal Oman Police's Directorate General of Customs. This corridor allows for the transportation of containers using “Shipping Agent Seal," eliminating the need for traditional customs sealing procedures. It also adopts the "written financial undertaking" as an alternative to a bank guarantee, This streamlined process not only facilitates direct connections between KDP and global shipping lines but also enhances overall logistics efficiency.

“This milestone aligns with our broader ambition to promote Oman’s standing as a competitive regional logistics hub by reinforcing its role in global supply chains”, said Saad Bait Nasib, Executive Director of KDP. “At KDP, we remain committed to operational excellence, full regulatory compliance, and embedding sustainability principles across every service and solution we offer”, he added.

KDP’s integration into CMA CGM’s global network further strengthens Asyad Group’s commitment to building a smart, interconnected logistics infrastructure aligned with the national priorities of Oman Vision 2040, with a focus on driving economic diversification. It also reinforces Oman’s standing as a competitive, globally connected logistics gateway, well-positioned to attract additional investments and unlock new trade opportunities.
