This participation reaffirms Asyad's commitment to enhancing Oman’s food security through innovative logistics solutions designed to strengthen food supply chains and facilitate access to regional and international markets.
During the exhibition, Asyad is showcasing a comprehensive range of logistics services tailored to meet the needs of the food, fisheries, and livestock sectors. These include refrigerated and dry storage solutions, as well as land, sea, and air transport services. These integrated offerings ensure fast and efficient delivery of products to global markets, enabling companies to expand into new markets and enhance their competitiveness. By bridging East and West, Asyad opens new trade opportunities for national, regional, and international businesses.
Juma bin Ibrahim Al Maskari, Director at Asyad Logistics, stated:
"Asyad’s advanced solutions are designed to meet the demands of the food and beverage sector while supporting local food security. Through state-of-the-art storage facilities, precise thermal control systems, and efficient import and export routes, we ensure the smooth movement of goods, maintain their quality, and support the sustainability of food supply chains locally and internationally."
The group also highlights Asyad Lines network, which operates direct shipping routes to over 37 ports in 11 countries. This network enhances the competitiveness of Omani exports, including fruits, vegetables, frozen products, and pharmaceuticals, ensuring their access to major regional and international markets.
Sohar and Salalah Ports will also present their strategic roles in enhancing regional and global supply chains. With over 200,000 square meters of advanced storage facilities offering diverse solutions, including cooling and freezing, these ports cater to essential food commodities such as grains, sugar, and vegetable oils. Integrated with a vast global shipping network, the ports ensure the smooth flow of goods. For instance, Salalah Port handled 93,000 metric tons of food products in 2023, cementing its role as a strategic hub for local and regional food supply chains.
During the event, Asyad Group will also feature Port Suwaiq and Khazaen Dry Port. Port Suwaiq, a mid-size port equipped with advanced onshore facilities and modern infrastructure, serves as an ideal gateway for efficiently handling food products, livestock, and both containerized and bulk cargo. The recently signed concession agreement with the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology will expand the port’s area to over 360,000 square meters, incorporating deep-water commercial berths and significantly increasing its handling capacity. Khazaen Dry Port, Oman’s first integrated inland dry port, plays a crucial role in enhancing local trade and providing essential import and export services to Omani businesses and manufacturers. The port offers connectivity to Port Suwaiq and the “Silal” Fruits and Vegetables Central Market, creating a seamless logistics hub for the swift handling and movement of agricultural products and other goods, reducing transportation costs and ensuring the efficient and reliable distribution of food products locally and regionally.
Asyad will also showcase the importance of its free zones and economic zones in attracting investments and providing a favorable environment for local and international stakeholders in the food sector. These zones offer exceptional incentives, including full tax exemptions, 100% foreign ownership, and customs duty exemptions. This supportive environment drives growth in the Agricultural sector, enabling companies to expand and thrive.
