ASYAD DRYDOCK SHOWCASES ITS SHIP SHIPBUILDING SERVICES AT POSIDONIA EXHIBITION
Asyad Group, represented by Asyad Drydock, participated in Posidonia 2022, one of the world's largest shipping exhibitions, held in Athens, Greece, from June 6th to 10th.
Being one of the largest drydocks in the MENA region, Asyad Drydock's participation aligns with its efforts to promote its offering amidst the growing regional demand on its world-class ship repair and shipbuilding services. It was also a good opportunity for Asyad Drydock to meet global shipping heavy hitters to present and discuss with them the latest marine projects, products and technologies as well as future plans that can be leveraged to develop ship repair and shipbuilding services.
Commenting on the event, Dr. Ibrahim Bakhit Al Nadhiri, Asyad Shipping and Drydock CEO, said: "Posidonia, 2022 Exhibition is an ideal platform to market Asyad Drydock's comprehensive and competitive services and cement Oman's position as a global logistics hub. Asyad Drydock’s being a one-stop-shop for ship repair, maintenance, conversion and building has helped boost Asyad Group’s competitive advantage as the preferred logistics destination for global shipping giants."
Al-Nadhairi indicated: "Representing 40% of Asyad Drydock's clients, the European market in general and the Greek market, in particular, is one of our target markets at Asyad Group.”
Imad Said Al Khadouri, Commercial Chief Officer at Asyad Shipping and Drydock, noted that: " Asyad Drydock that stands out on the global maritime map as a renowned shipyard serving top local and international players, serves more than 40 countries around the world. In 2021, the Drydock businesses increased by 20% compared to 2020, delivering 189 projects. Since 2011, Asyad Drydock has delivered over 1,000 vessels and projects.”
“We are participating for the sixth time in this event to expand our network and attract investors from leading shipping companies globally. We also aim to know more about the new trends in the industry and listen to our customers' needs”, Al Khadouri added.
Asyad Drydock spreads over 1.2 million square meters at the entryway to the Arabian Sea. It is the second-largest dry dock in the Middle East and North Africa region and is a prominent destination for vessels of all sizes, including ULCCs up to 600,000 DWT.
