Asyad Group launched its participation at Oman Sustainability Week 2026 through a series of strategic initiatives and partnerships that reflect its role in advancing more sustainable and efficient logistics systems, while supporting Oman’s ambitions to achieve net zero by 2050. The participation featured the launch of a strategic white paper on the future of green mobility and transport decarbonization, alongside the unveiling of SOHAR Port and Freezone’s first Sustainability Report and the showcasing of the Group’s key efforts in developing lower-emission operational solutions. During the event, the Group claimed the Platinum ESG Award for the third consecutive year, reaffirming its continued commitment to embedding sustainability across its operations and strengthening the competitiveness of the logistics sector.

The main highlight of the Group’s participation is the second edition of  ‘Asyad Sustainability Talks’ bringing together partners, policymakers and industry experts to discuss key challenges and opportunities related to accelerating the transition toward lower-emission logistics systems and advancing ESG practices across the sector. The discussions aim to strengthen practical dialogue around integrating sustainability priorities with operational implementation.

Essam Al Sheibany, Vice President of Sustainability at Asyad Group, joined conversations on building Oman's ESG and green reporting ecosystem, while Nasser Al Hadhrami, Sustainability Specialist at Asyad Shipping, participated in a discussion on the importance of collaboration across stakeholders to strengthen sustainability standards within operations and enhance sector readiness for lower-carbon transition requirements. The Group also launched, in collaboration with Muscat University, a white paper titled “Towards a Low-Emission Future for Oman's Transport Sector: Green Mobility through Hydrogen and EV Integration,” which presents a practical framework for reducing emissions across road, rail, maritime and aviation transport, while supporting the competitiveness of Oman’s logistics sector and aligning with global shifts in energy and sustainable transport..

Essam Al Sheibany said: “Asyad adopts an approach centered on transforming sustainability ambitions into practical applications that contribute to improving operational efficiency and accelerating decarbonization efforts, strengthening the competitiveness of the logistics sector while supporting Oman’s long-term objectives.”

SOHAR Port and Freezone, a key node within Oman's integrated logistics infrastructure, also launched its first Sustainability Report outlining progress across emissions management, climate resilience, energy efficiency and ESG governance. The report also highlights the port’s efforts in advancing clean energy readiness through active investment in green hydrogen and lower-emission infrastructure.

"Green hydrogen represents one of the key pillars within our strategic plans ," said Abdullah Suleiman Al Abri, Vice President of Sustainability at SOHAR Port and Freezone. "We are working to strengthen the port’s readiness to accommodate expected growth in this sector, supporting Oman’s position as a trusted hub for clean energy and sustainable logistics services.”

Asyad Group continues to deliver operational results that reflect progress in advancing its sustainability objectives, recording a reduction of more than 3% reduction in CO₂ emissions across its operations, while Asyad Shipping achieved a 3.6% reduction in CO₂ emissions from its maritime operations. Since 2019, Asyad Shipping has also invested more than USD 64 million in decarbonization initiatives aimed at reducing emissions and enhancing fleet efficiency.

Asyad Group’s participation in Oman Sustainability Week reflects its continued commitment to advancing more efficient and sustainable logistics systems in line with Oman Vision 2040 and the Sultanate’s ambitions to achieve net zero by 2050.
