Asyad Drydock, a member of the Asyad Group, recently participated at the Posidonia International Shipping Exhibition, one of the world’s largest shipping events, which attracts thousands of exhibitors and visitors from near and far to the Greek capital city of Athens. During the 5-day event, Asyad Drydock showcased its world-class facilities and competitive solutions, as well as the company’s innovative one-stop approach, which comprises of ship building, maintenance, and conversion facilities for engineering, electrical, propulsion, fitting, blasting, and painting services, as well as procurement, testing, trials, and class surveys for all types of vessels.

Al Nadhairi went on to say that the integration of drydock services in Duqm is a key competitive advantage that reduces deviation time and that all eyes are now focused on the European markets, particularly Greece which represents 30% of Asyad Drydock’s customer base.
Dr. Abdulsalam Al Rabaani, Chief Commercial Officer of Asyad Drydock added, “We are excited to forge new strategic partnerships and alliances at Posidonia as we aim to raise market share of the commercial operations of the drydock in Duqm by attracting more customers from Europe who can benefit from our state-of-the-art maintenance and conversion services for vessels of all types and sizes. We are proud that we were able to secure 230 contracts from more than 40 countries in 2023, a 4% growth compared to the previous year, and are looking forward to achieving greater results in the years to come.”
Spread over 1.2 million square meters, at the entryway to the Arabian Sea, the dry dock complex in Duqm is the second largest dry dock in the Middle East and North Africa region and is a prominent destination for vessels of all sizes. It consists of two docks, the first with a length of 410 meters and a width of 95 meters, and the second with a length of 410 meters and a width of 80 meters, in addition to a floating dock with a length of 200 meters and a width of 36.4 meters to provide ship repair and conversion services, in addition to building ships for specialized uses, such as cargo, transporting goods, vehicles, and equipment, as well as modern fishing and marine research vessels.
His Excellency President Aleksandr Lukashenko of the Republic of Belarus, accompanied by his delegation, visited Asyad Group, represented by Sohar Port largest port within the Group in Oman and one of the fastest-growing ports in the region.
