Oman Sail and Asyad Group, Oman’s leading global integrated logistics provider, have sealed a partnership to use sailing to support youth development across the nation. The Asyad Community Sailing Programme will allow male and female students from grades 2-10 from 150 public schools across Muscat, Al Batinah North and Al Sharqiyah South governorates to experience the joy of being on the water and learn the basics of sailing at Oman Sail’s Sailing Schools at Al Mouj Muscat Marina, Sur and Barceló Resort Mussanah.
Through this initiative, participants will benefit from the valuable life skills and personal growth opportunities that sailing offers, including building confidence, developing active citizenship, and engaging in physical activity. By sharing expertise and resources, Oman Sail and Asyad Group strive to introduce a new generation of sailors to the sport and contribute to the overall development and well-being of the youth in Oman.

The Asyad Community Sailing Programme will hold 32 youth development sessions at three of Oman Sail’s sailing schools and, as part of the agreement also host an open day for people with disabilities and a team building session for university students. Asyad Group employees will also have the chance to support the Programme and the community by volunteering to assist in its activities and sharing their maritime and professional experience and knowledge.
Asyad Group, in collaboration with OQ Alternative Energy and Sumitomo Corporation Middle East FZE, announced a joint study agreement to explore the potential of establishing Oman as a global leader in low-carbon fuels for bunkering. This visionary initiative represents a pioneering step in promoting sustainable shipping practices to meet global decarbonization goals in the maritime industry and leveraging Oman’s renewable resources on a global scale.
