Asyad Group, the global integrated logistics solutions provider, has announced Omantel, the Sultanate’s leading telecommunications services provider, as the official technology partner for the upcoming Asyad Global Logistics Challenge. The competitive event will be held from 2-4 November 2021 at Expo 2020 Dubai, as part of a line-up of activities Asyad Group has organized in collaboration with Hypermotion Dubai, which includes the Global Hackathon Challenge and the Logistics Start-up Challenge. It comes as part of wider efforts to showcase the role of the public and private sectors in positioning the Sultanate on the global map.
Juma bin Saleh Al Uraimi, Acting Group Chief Commercial Officer at Asyad Group, said,The Asyad Global Logistics Hackathon Challenge will provide promising local and international data scientists with a chance to showcase their skills and share their ideas on how to harness emerging technologies to advance the transport and logistics sectors. Meanwhile, the Logistics Start-up Challenge will charge entrants across six key growth pillars for mobility and transport logistics, namely artificial intelligence, cyber security, robotics, logistics, smart mobility and drones, to pitch their solutions to an audience of regional and international investors.
Asyad Group successfully executed a mission-critical transport operation for OQ Refineries and Petrochemical Industries (OQRPI). The specialized project involved rapid and secure relocation of 25 tons of essential, heavy equipment from Italy to Oman using a dedicated (Boeing F 747) cargo charter. Managed entirely by Asyad's specialized project logistics teams, the equipment was delivered safely and in strict adherence to the established schedule to OQRPI’s Sohar warehouse facility, showcasing Asyad’s ability to coordinate large, complex operations with precision and reliability.
