Muscat, 17 September 2017 - ASYAD Group represented by Oman Logistics Centre (OLC) signed an agreement with the National Training Fund (NTF), to establish a strategic relationship to manage the mutually held values of both parties toward the development of a national skilful taskforce.
The agreement focuses on the development of the Omanization strategy whereby facilitating skill improving activities and programs for the logistics sector. Both parties have agreed to work together in bridging the gap between market needs and skills supply. As a result, OLC and NTF will combine their resources by increasing the competitiveness and capabilities of the local training market. The two parties will engage with the logistics industry to foster collaboration amongst stakeholders in order to identify priorities and market demand. For this reason, OLC and NTF will perform research, studies and environmental scans of the local labor market, and take into consideration opportunities based on trends and developments affecting the human capital and skills of the logistics sector.
One of OLC main goals is to ensure human capital matching the forecasted industry growth. Since both entities are fully committed in developing talented nationals, a workforce capabilities agreement has been prepared to aid this goal. The strategy revolves around maximizing human capital by equipping nationals with practical training so they may hold key positions and contribute to Oman’s workforce development.
The two parties will work in cooperation to strengthen the logistics sector by promoting workforce development.
