ASYAD GROUP ENABLES THE OMANI PRIVATE LOGISTICS SECTOR WITH COMPETITIVE DIRECT LCL SOLUTION FROM INDIA

  • Asyad Group introduces direct LCL solution from India to Oman to enable local private businesses
  • The direct LCL solution provides Omani freight forwarders with a competitive import tool to improve their offering
  • Importers and SMEs can capitalize on the new service to access global supply chains
  • India-Oman LCL solution is set to strengthen Asyads role as a key trade enabler in the Sultanate’s economy

Asyad Group, Oman’s global integrated logistics provider, unveiled a competitive Less-than-Container Load (LCL) powered by the Group’s logistics arm, and delivered on board of its maritime and container fleet. The LCL solution will connect India’s Nhava Sheva Port with Oman’s Khazaen Dry Port (KDP) via Sohar Port.

The new offering aims to empower Oman’s private sector by providing it with enhanced access to thriving global markets and the right tools to develop its service offering. The LCL solution is also set to facilitate Omani freight forwarders’ access to KDP’s world-class infrastructure, storage facilities and advanced container handling capabilities. Additionally, local importers and SMEs utilizing the LCL service will be in a prime position to import their goods from India at reduced costs, shortened transit-times and with a reliable direct weekly service.

The direct solution will see Asyad Logistics act as a consolidator and position itself as a partner to freight forwarders by leveraging its integrated logistics ecosystem, highly efficient container freight station (CFS) at KDP, and Asyad Line’s popular weekly India Express Service (IEX), as well as Oman’s proximity to the Indian subcontinent. With a logistics powerhouse by their side and a world-class logistics ecosystem at their disposal, freight forwarders can guarantee their clients enhanced reliability and cost efficiency, as well as expedited connectivity with India’s large export market and Oman’s major business and consumer hubs.

Juma Al Maskari, Asyad Logistics Director, highlighted the importance of this addition to empowering the private sector: “The private logistics sector is playing an increasingly significant role in the national supply chains. In our capacity as Oman’s global integrated logistics service provider, we have always gone above and beyond to support this trend, constantly introducing services tailored to local businesses of all sizes. The latest LCL addition from India is pivotal, as it offers freight forwarders fast, reliable and cost-efficient access to the doorstep of key business and consumer centers in Oman through KDP, in a fully integrated Asyad journey. Therefore, our new LCL offering stands out as a strong, superior option against the existing services in other regional hubs.”

Expected to stimulate further growth in trade volume between India and Oman, Asyad’s LCL solution is another testament to the Group’s role as a key trade enabler and driver of Oman’s economy. This role is projected to become more prominent as Asyad plans to unlock more Indian origins via an expansive network of inland container depots and expand the LCL service to cover imports from Indonesia and Singapore through the recently upgraded Far East Express (FEX) service.

By introducing additional direct LCL solutions later this year and continuously expanding its direct lines, logistics and port capabilities, Asyad Group reaffirms its position as a true partner and key enabler of the private sector, supporting its growing role in logistics and realizing the Group’s mission to cement Oman’s standing as a global logistics hub.
