SHIP REPAIR

About SHIP REPAIR

The main backbone of any shiprepair yard’s annual turnover is the general repair market. Known in the trade as ‘haircut and shave’ this market segment covers all the regular repairs, maintenance and refurbishments, normally during Class Survey drydockings.

Since 2011, when the yard first began ‘soft’ operations, virtually all types of ships have entered the yard for various repair projects. These include ULCCs, VLCC, all sizes of smaller tankers, LNG tankers and LPG tankers, bulk carriers, containerships, general cargo vessels, ro/ro vessels, dredgers and many vessels from the offshore oil & gas industry. It was as soon as June 2012 that the yard celebrated its 200th repair project.

One of the main examples of how any shiprepair yard moves forward is the number of repeat customers returning to the yard along with multi-ship contracts won. In both cases, ODC has progressed steadily since the soft opening. The list of ships repaired by ODC has steadily increased including repeat orders from some of the world’s largest & most traditional shipowners, including such names as Dynacom, Maersk, CMA CGM, ITM Ship management, Springfield Shipping, Social Cooperation of India, Eastern Mediterranean Maritime Limited, Oman Shipping etc.
