ASYAD ANNOUNCES TOP 3 SOLUTIONS FROM ASYAD GLOBAL LOGISTICS HACKATHON
Eng. Ghaith Al Darmaki, CTO of Asyad Group and Head of the Hackathon Committee said, “The focus areas addressed in the competition presented key challenges the industry is facing. By encouraging these data analysts to think outside the box, we believe were able to transform big data into forward-thinking solutions with great potential to drive Oman’s competitiveness in the global arena.”
Al Darmaki went on to highlight the value-added from such a data-drive approach and its positive impact on the Sultanate’s transport and logistics sector. With all hackathon outputs being the intellectual property of Asyad, it will be able to will be able to identify, develop, implement and market game-changing solutions amongst the Group as well as local strategic partners.
Emerging victorious, the winning teams expressed their appreciation for the tough competition where 45 data scientists and analysts showcased their skills, shared their experiences and transformed their ideas to innovative solutions.
Dr. Aziza bint Najib Al Zadjali, a member of the winning team from Oman, said, “This has truly been an enriching experience in my educational journey. By being able to sit and engage with big data experts from around the world, I was able to broaden my perspective and explore how ideas can turn into viable investment opportunities.”
Mohammed Al Ketbi, a participant from the United Arab Emirates said, “The hackathon allowed us to share and exchange knowledge, reinvent ideas, network with peers and learn from global experts on how to analyze and read data. The projects presented today provided sustainable solutions to the logistics sector.”
Meanwhile, Sofeng, from Belgium added that the Asyad Global Logistics Hackathon gave her the chance to work with data scientists from Asia and the Middle East. Together, they were able to find smarter solutions in the field of mobility and logistics, specially that this was the first time that a challenge of this kind was held outside Europe.
“Asyad Global Logistics Hackathon is an ideal platform for us and participants to advance innovation and build data driven organizations globally. As the hackathon was underway, participants continuously demonstrated that technology is the currency of today and tomorrow,” said Maria Parysz, Founder of Kaggle Days.
Running from 2nd to 4th November 2021, Asyad Global Logistics Challenge was organized in collaboration with Hypermotion Dubai and the Sultanate’s technology arm, Omantel. The world-class event cemented Asyad Group’s role as an innovation-catalyst and incubator for technology-driven minds in the region and the world.
