Oman Post and Asyad Express Group partners with Oman Petroleum and Real Estate companies to install e-locker parcel network- providing convenience and accessibility to their customers
MOUs are signed with Oman Oil Marketing Company, Shell Oman, Al Maha and Al Mouj in a collaboration to leverage technologies and generate new efficiencies
New E-locker parcel machines to be distributed in selected service stations and sites across Oman
Sustainability initiatives are at the heart of the MOUs
Exchange of expertise in the fields of development, learning, marketing and branding are equally envisaged
Following on its business growth strategy centered around private sector partnership and engagement, Asyad Group, represented by Oman Post and Asyad Express, has joined hands with Oman’s pioneering distributors of petroleum products; Shell Oman Marketing Company (Shell Oman), Oman Oil Marketing Company (OOMCO) and Al Maha Petroleum Products Marketing Company (Al Maha) as well as with the prominent real estate developer, Al Mouj Muscat to install e-locker parcel network across Oman. The strategic Memorandum of Understanding Agreements (MOUs) that underpin their partnership were signed today between them at Oman Post and Asyad Express headquarters.
The MOU agreements reinforce Oman Post and Asyad Express’ plan to expand customer accessibility to its wide range of e-commerce and postal services, by deploying multiple outlets and increasing the number of parcel service delivery points throughout the Sultanate. The arrangements also translate the signatories’ aligned visions towards leveraging emerging technologies to transform their operations, generate new efficiencies and optimise customers’ experience and convenience.
ِAt the forefront of this co-operation is the introduction of the Oman Post and Asyad Express E-locker Parcel Machine network across Oman. This will be the first E-locker network of its kind, which offers customers ultimate flexibility on where and when to receive their parcels and documents. These e-lockers will be placed in selected OOMCO, Shell and Al Maha service stations as well as in Al Mouj Muscat to allow customers to pick up their items easily and securely at a time convenient to them. The e-lockers will be deployed in several pilot projects before being installed in other key sites across the Sultanate.
On this occasion, Oman Post and Asyad Express CEO, Nasser Al Sharji commented, “We always look to provide our customers with increased flexibility and access to all our logistics and postal services, utilizing the latest technologies to make customer experience as seamless as possible. Our investment in the new e-lockers is a prime example of this. Our customers will have 24 / 7 access to pick up and drop off their parcels and documents at multiple locations across Oman. The E-locker concept also supports environmental sustainability, which is a key focus area for us and our new partners”.
About this strategic collaboration, Mr. Tarik Al Junaidi, CEO of Oman Oil Marketing Company noted: “We are delighted to partner with Oman Post and Asyad Express and benefit from their offering as Oman Oil Marketing has been successfully leading the fuel marketing sector in the Sultanate by being customer-centric and providing the highest level of service to its customers”
”Consumer demand for greater convenience is changing the face of retail. People expect more seamless transactions and true omni-channel experience. The key to sustaining our strong growth is to focus on innovation, differentiation and partnering with strong and emerging brands with a growth mindset so that we consistently deliver better experiences for our customers. That is why we are glad to partner with Oman Post and Asyad Express to deliver innovative mobility solutions in line with society expectations.” Said Dr. Mohammed Mahmood Al Balushi, CEO of Shell Oman.
Excited about the Agreement, Eng. Hamed bin Salim Al Maghdri, CEO of Al Maha Petroleum, explained, “Al Maha thrives to deliver popular services to its customers in the Sultanate who are perceptive towards innovative and digitally-driven solutions such as the e-lockers that will optimise their experience.”
On his part, Nasser Al Sheibani, Al Mouj Muscat CEO stated: “Al Mouj Muscat is committed to innovation and to building a community where residents, businesses and visitors can enjoy great and seamless experiences, every day. We welcome all partnerships that enhance ease and convenience, and we are delighted to work with Asyad Express on this valuable initiative, which will enable our customers to benefit from this innovative service”.
The parties have further affirmed their interest in exploring new horizons for co-operation and exchange of expertise in the fields of learning and development, branding and marketing, sustainability and energy transition.
Oman Post and Asyad Express plan to sign additional strategic partnerships and explore further co-operation opportunities with the private sector, all in line with Asyad Group’s comprehensive private sector partnership strategy. The Group calls upon all interested parties to reach out and seize the opportunity to launch a promising and fruitful collaboration.
