About Container Shipping

Connecting Omani ports with those in the Arabian Gulf is a key objective of Asyad’s strategy to spur stronger trade ties between the Sultanate and the wider region. In line with this goal, a dedicated liner operation in the shape of Oman Container Line (OCL) was introduced in 2010. OCL currently operates a feedering service linking the UAE port of Jebel Ali with Sohar, Duqm and Salalah in the Sultanate. Volumes are projected to grow significantly when Port of Duqm commences full-fledged commercial operations in 2019.
