ASYAD concludes successful participation at Sea Asia 2019 in Singapore

April 11, 2019- Muscat: ASYAD - the end-to-end logistics services provider of Oman- participated at Sea Asia 2019 in Singapore during the Singapore Maritime Week from 9- 11 April.

This participation is part of the Group's mission to promote the strategic advantages of the Sultanate’s global logistics hub and strengthen the presence of Omani ports on the world seaports map.

The exhibition with 400 companies and 140,000 logistics professionals, including leading logistics experts and some of the world's leading maritime transport leaders was inaugurated by Dr. Janil Puthucheary, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Communications and Information, who showed interest in the Group`s presence and business model, and expressed admiration for the shared history between Oman and Singapore. Dr. Janil indicated that “The shipping industry is facing key challenges such as digitalization, talent, energy and carbon footprint. These are shared challenges for both Oman and Singapore, we have shared history going back thousands of years, the maritime industry shared and the interaction between the two cultures is a source of strength going forward as we work together to solve some of these challenges.”

Oman Drydock Company and Oman Shipping Company both gave presentations showcasing the comprehensive logistics services provided by the Group in shipping, ports and logistics, while stressing the strategic role of Oman in the industry globally.

Ahmed Akaak, Chief Marketing Officer at ASYAD commented that: "“Our participation is part of our global marketing plan to promote the sultanate’s unique positioning as a world logistics hub and a strategic gateway to large-scale markets in the ME, Africa and beyond.  Such engagements are ideal to boosting trade between the Sultanate and the global markets. The maritime transport sector plays a critical role in supporting the Sultanate's plans and strategies for economic diversification as outlined in the Sultanate of Oman Logistics Vision 2040”.

He added that there are several efforts being made to enhance the presence of Omani products in international markets, pointing out that Singapore is a major hub with access to the ASEAN market, which opens the way for promising partnerships for Oman.

ASYAD Group's global marketing calendar for April included also participation in a number of other international events such as the World Economic Forum for the Middle East and North Africa held in Jordan and ExpoShipping Istanbul, held in the Turkish Republic on shipping industry.
